The Lower Chalk exposed at Samphire Hoe is highly fossiliferous. Brachiopods and Bivalves are most commonly found. Corals, urchins, ammonites, shark teeth can also be found at this site. Microfossils are extremely abundant within the chalk and can be extracted relatively easily from rock samples taken home.
