Sferics is the chosen moniker of Berlin-based musician Felix-Florian Tödtloff (also member of Sun Worship, Petethepiratesquid and Nada) under which he performs part-improvised sets with just solo electric guitar and few accompanying devices. Since 2012 the musical language of Sferics transformed from phasing-inspired compositions in the style of Steve Reich, improvised shreds to more alluring ambient textures in the vein of Fripp & Eno. Sferics shared stages with acts such as Noveller, Aidan Baker (of NADJA), Les Rhinocéros (Tzadik Records) and performed together with Man Forever (John Colpitts of Oneida) and Sam Hilmer (of Zs, Diamond Terrifier). A debut recording is scheduled for late 2014.
