International singer of popular music and folk songs, and creator and star of award winning tribute act to Neil Diamond, Peter Byrne is one of Australia’s most talented and versatile entertainers. Peter’s career is studded with awards from the entertainment industry, acknowledging his outstanding ability to create and perform shows that take his audience on a memorable journey of songs and music, Peter’s professional productions, along with a warm, sparkling personality and a delightful touch of Irish wisdom, charm and humor, has resulted in a ‘cult-like’ band of dedicated fans who provide the nucleus of a audience at all of his public appearances.
Peter began his career singing in pubs in his birthplace of Dublin, and the early signs of his youthful talent resulted in his first big break into show business as the support act for his best friends of 35 years the Furey’s. This performance sent Peter’s creative juices into overdrive, and after months of research and planning, ‘Forever Diamond’, and Peter’s first tribute to Neil Diamond hit the boards sending Peter’s career into overdrive. Peter began appearing on national television programs like ‘Good Morning Australia’ with Bert Newton and ‘The Midday Show’ with Kerri-Anne Kennelly.
Peter is the consummate performer, at home in an intimate setting, playing guitar and singing from his wide repertoire of songs, or performing with a 40-piece symphony orchestra for a huge audience. He has now developed two additional shows, ‘His music, his life’ – an extension of ‘Hot August Night’, and CELTIC BEAT -‘Legends of Ireland’ – a tribute to the music of Peter’s homeland, saluting Irish folk, pop and rock singers, such as the Furey’s, Foster and Allen, the Corr’s and U2, Van Morrisson and many more.
