Teed Up are a four-piece blues band featuring:
Steve Roux – guitar/vox (Steve Roux & the Brass Knuckle Blues Band, the white knuckle blues band)
Steve Browning – bass (Pretty Things, David Gilmour)
Ray Drury – hammond/piano (The Producers)
Bernie Fox – drums (Jimmy Witherspoon, Eric Bibb, Sherman Robertson)
Together, they have well over 100 years performing experience with some of the best and most famous in the industry.
All members currently live on the South Coast and are very well known, not only locally, but throughout the UK and beyond having performed at many festivals over the years.
How did the band come into being?
It was really a matter of circumstances being right and all things falling into place. Steve (Browning) and Bernie approached Steve Roux just as all other band projects were coming to an end. Meanwhile, Steve R and Ray had been toying with the idea of playing together for some time so Ray was approached and they all got together to see how it worked both musically and personally. From the first meeting it was apparent there was a special chemistry between the four of them and the result is Teed Up, a band with no restrictions or boundaries, playing the blues as they like to play it whether it comes from the Louisiana swamps or streets of Chicago.
So… what’s with the name?
‘Teed Up’ is an old jazz slang term for someone who is dressed up, suited and booted and ready to go, which Teed Up obviously are.
