I can’t believe it’s been 7 years since I launched this night with my good friend Mono Lisa and my girl Meg. When we first approached the Boomtick crew in July of 2008, we wanted to offer something different, and that’s what we still try to do, to this day.

At the time, the musical landscape of Perth was very different. We found the people (and us) were crying out for a party which pushed the underground, bass heavy sounds - with a look to bringing out artists who might otherwise fly under the radar - who might not be known by the masses - who might not even draw a big crowd… yet.

7 years later - we’re still here.

The list of DJs and producers, whether local, Australian or international who we’ve bought out is crazy for me to look back on. From bringing Emoh Instead our for his first Perth show, before What So Not was even a thing - and then a year later when it most certainly was, to booking SHOCKONE for his first Ambar show and our 2nd gig way back in 2009 - and then his AMAZING surprise return set at our 6th Birthday last year. There are just too many highlights and DJs to mention.

Massive thanks goes to all of them and all of you who have supported us over the past 7 years. For our 7th Birthday, we’ve enlisted a Force favourite back from the east coast, a young trap lord from New Zealand who is on the rise for his first Perth gig, some fresh locals in for their first Force sets, and some legends who have been with us since the start.

Swick has played for Force Majeure a couple of times over the years and always impresses. He’s made tunes with Diplo, for J.Lo and has been played by just about every big name out there as well as releasing on Mad Decent, Fools Gold, Main Course and his recent collab with Nina Las Vegas went massive on NEST HQ.

At just 20 years old, Ian Munro has been making a lot of noise for himself, following a string of massive bass-heavy releases. Producing from his hometown of Auckland, New Zealand, his sound has broken into the international scene, with a string of bass-heavy releases gaining support from notable DJ’s and producer’s including Diplo, UZ, Jack Ü, Baauer & RL Grime.
