::: Who is Skoozbot? :::

Brian Connelly (a.k.a. Skoozbot), an Indiana native and Seattle transplant, has long been interested in the interaction between humans and technology. This interest has been met in his love of electronic music, which is made by machines yet fueled by the soul.

As a long-time DJ, Brian has never been satisfied simply blending two tracks together and has long sought to augment his mixing by incorporating the limitless possibilities provided by technology. Endless experimentation with both hardware and software has helped bridge the gap, but as technology continues to grow, so does Brian's curiosity for using it to open up new possibilities.

This blend of the human and the electronic is further explored in his productions, where Brian aims to re-create instantaneous human emotions through electronic sounds. Although these snapshots of our consciousness can occur for just brief moments in our lives, they can continue on and be further evolved through music.

::: And Bryan Zentz? :::

Bryan Zentz is a music fanatic, producer, DJ, and artist living in the Pacific Northwest of the US. He has been making electronic music for over two decades, drawing from a wide array of influences. Bad Brains, Skinny Puppy, Basic Channel, Amebix, Robert Hood, Plastikman, Jeff Mills, Cajmere, Human League, Mantronix, Cabaret Voltaire, Inner City, Marley Marl, Kraftwerk and Mad Professor have all held a special place in his heart and ear.

Imprints such as EXperimental, Definitive, Jericho, Soma, Intec, CMYK Musik, Thoughtless, and Plus 8 among many others have released his recordings over the years. He is honored to have had his music featured in the playlists of a diverse range of DJs: from John Peel to Francois Kevorkian, Anja Schneider to Robert Hood. As a DJ and live performer, his sets have taken him across the world to legendary venues: Twilo (Nyc), Fabric (London), Womb (Tokyo), The Rex (Paris), as well as festivals like I Love Techno and The Detroit Electronic Music Festival.

His latest release on Minus fuses Bryan’s musical past with the present. On tracks like Empraxa and Dromes, the tension and urgency of his early Primate and Tronic output is deconstructed and scattered across a contemporary techno landscape. Meanwhile, Dialers and Anima Mecanique pick up the punch and shuffle of his 90s Barada project—the project that he originally signed to Hawtin’s Definitive label back in 1994.

Bryan currently resides in rainy Portland Oregon where he rides his bike, collects books on design & typography, and eats the occasional vegan donut.
