Good Room Live presents
Hugh Cornwell
UK Punk’s Dark Lord Hugh Cornwell is coming to Good Room, Brooklyn, to play his only New York show on June 30. As the original guitarist, singer and main songwriter in the seminal British rock band The Stranglers, Hugh Cornwell is one of the UK's finest songwriting talents and accomplished live performers.
He’s enjoyed massive success with 10 hit albums and 21 Top Forty singles, etching himself into Europe and the USA's musical psyche with classic songs, including ‘Peaches’, ‘No More Heroes’, ‘Golden Brown’, ‘Nice N' Sleazy’, ‘Always the Sun’ and ‘Duchess’.
Cornwell's last studio album ‘Totem and Taboo’ was released to rave reviews with Mojo calling it ‘his gnarliest record in 30 years’. Recorded at Electrical Audio Studios in Chicago, the album was engineered and mixed by the legendary Steve Albini, who has also produced Nirvana, The Pixes and The Stooges.
NYC bands Savants will be opening the night. Plus DJ sets from Tony Prins and Thomas James.
Tickets are $20 via Ticketfly.
