- TWO PEFORMANCES AT THE BASSMENT
Flamenco bailaor (dancer) Carlos Menchaca is coming to Saskatoon to hold 2 LIVE flamenco music and dance performances entitled "Elementos" at The Bassment and a 3day workshop (see video below). Menchaca, who has performed with an array of influential dancers and flamenco artists including Antonio Canales, Alejandro Granados and Concha Jareño will be accompanied by international music and dance group ¡ARTE! Flamenco. ¡ARTE!, whose members are Kari Alba -Saskatoon based bailaora dancer, passionate teacher, choreographer, and promoter of flamenco dance, San Francisco’s Ricardo Diaz -an internationally renowned flamenco guitarist and Celedonio Garrido -began singing in church choirs in Huelva, Spain before moving to Seville to work with professional flamenco artists...¡ARTE! had the honor of opening for legendary bailaora dancer Mercedes Amaya (who is the niece of the late great Carmen Amaya) at the Vancouver Flamenco Festival in September of 2016. With all sincerity Carlos Menchaca along with ¡ARTE! Flamenco will shock and amaze!

Beginner (3 days X 1hr/day = 3hrs)
Friday, Saturday May 26th & 27th 5:30-6:30PM
Sunday May 28th 11:00-12:00PM

Intermediate (minimum 2 years flamenco;3 days X 1hr/day = 3hrs )
Friday, Saturday May 26th & 27th 6:30-7:30PM
Sunday May 28th 12:00-1:00PM

Advanced (minimum 4 years flamenco; 3 days X 1hr/day = 3hrs)
Friday, Saturday May 26th & 27th 7:30-8:30PM
Sunday May 28th 1:00-2:00PM

Due to the intimate size of our studio, only a limited enrollment will be accepted to attend each level. We expect many students traveling from out of town to attend this event. Early registration is highly recommended in order to guarantee placement.
