The Velts began their musical journey in 2011 when Sean Borg (guitars and vox) and Mattew Cardona (bass) met in school. Promptly deciding to form a band in early 2012, Sean brought in Stephen Pace Asciak, known as Stimpy, to perform drumming duties. The band started performing gigs mainly with Skimmed, Clandestines, The Violent Violets, Hey Sus! and many more. After various performances, the band felt that it needed to grow bigger, hence adding Daniel Borg on keys, and a second guitarist Alistair Abela. This enabled the band to expand and enhance more song writing-wise.
